A saline solution is first introduced to make the fat easier to remove, and then a small cannula is used to gently suction out the unwanted fat, leaving behind a slimmer, more contoured appearance. The procedure typically takes about an hour, depending on the amount of fat being removed. If you are combining facial liposuction with another procedure, such as a facelift, it will take longer.

After the procedure, you may experience some mild bruising and swelling, which usually resolves within a few days. Full recovery can take several weeks, but most patients are able to return to work in about a week. Over-the-counter pain medications are usually sufficient to manage discomfort, though prescription medication can be provided if needed. You’ll be able to see the final results once the swelling has completely subsided, and Dr. Leong will follow up with you to ensure you’re healing well.
