What Happens During a Neck Lift Surgery at Leong Facial Plastic Surgery?

Dr. Leong performs neck lift surgery in a fully accredited surgical facility under general anesthesia or deep sedation, ensuring patient safety and comfort. The procedure begins with a small incision beneath the chin, allowing access to the platysma muscle. Dr. Leong will then tighten and secure this muscle to reduce the appearance of neck bands (often referred to as platysmal bands). If necessary, excess skin and fat will be removed to improve the overall contour.

In some cases, liposuction is used to remove additional fat from the neck area. The fat collected during liposuction can also be transferred to other areas of the face to restore the volume lost due to aging. Once the muscle is tightened and excess skin is removed, the remaining skin is realigned and sutured. Dr. Leong carefully conceals incisions behind the ears to ensure discreet scarring, avoiding incisions in front of the ear for patients opting for a neck lift without a facelift.
